Shop Family Business campaign launched for the festive season
The new Shop Family Business campaign is designed to support family firms at the heart of local communities with the Christmas season fast approaching.
The campaign, led by Family Business United, invites family businesses of all shapes and sizes to utilise a selection of digital advertising banners for use on social media, which can be linked to their online stores. Many of which have been recently created to cater for the rising demand from online consumers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Paul Andrews, founder and CEO, Family Business United, said: “Our High Streets are precious but with restrictions and social distancing in place, it may not be as easy to shop in person this year, so remember to look out and support your local family businesses online too with our #ShopLocal #ShopEarly and #ShopFamilyBiz campaign.
“For many, the digital agenda has also been fast-tracked in 2020 and for many family firms the forthcoming festive season will also be their first with an online shop.”
Mr Andrews revealed that his organisation’s research has found that “many long-standing family firms remain in the location where they first began”.
He said that most family-led businesses continue to support their local communities through “employment, income generation, wealth creation and philanthropic endeavours”.
“Now is a good time for us to offer them support too,” added Mr Andrews.
Family business owners can apply to receive a complimentary selection of nine web banners that can be placed across social media handles using the #ShopLocal #ShopEarly and #ShopFamilyBiz hashtags.
“We hope that this campaign will encourage people to buy their gifts, foods and festive treats online from local family firms and help these businesses to continue to survive and ultimately thrive for generations to come,” concluded Mr Andrews.
