Should the conditions for furloughing be met, then an employer can only recover the cost of any mandatory Employer pension contributions under Automatic Enrolment, which is currently 3%.  

Where a director is paid a basic salary, then in most cases there is no mandatory requirement for the company to make contributions under Auto Enrolment, so in some instances it will not be possible to make any form of claim for pension contributions.
