Networking event provides boost to small businesses in London

Small businesses in East London were among those to benefit from a networking event that took place earlier this month.

Industry experts were on hand to give their advice at the Start Small, Think Big event on January 23rd at the Idea Store in Whitechapel to help small firms improve their business development, East London Advertiser reports.

Furthermore, entrepreneurs and other business owners were spoken to about the potential social media holds for expanding services and speaking to customers.

Shafiqul Haque, Tower Hamlets Council’s cabinet member for jobs and skills, told the news provider that the event was a success.

"I was impressed with the range and high level of advice and support on offer. I hope this will inspire residents to set up their own successful companies," he explained.

It comes after a survey by Interim Partners, published earlier this week, revealed that two-thirds of businesses are keen on seeing a reduction in VAT this year to help them with growth.
